Improv Classes for Teenz and Tweenz!

Our 12 week semester course, teaching all the basics of short form improv!

Learn improv, by improvisors

     Tailored perfectly for teens, The Improv Academy teaches the basics of short form improv comedy, all while having fun and making new friends! 

Classes run for 12 weeks, with each being an hour and a half long. the class age range is from 12-15, with an older "intermediate" class for ages 16-18.

All students will learn the how-to's and what-not's of improv, ending the semester with a showcase in our classic club format for friends and families alike to enjoy!

Joey Mascio

                                                                             has been a ComedyBox performer for two years. He hails                                                                                       from California where he was a Disneyland performer and comedian for nine years. He is a teacher who taught high school and middle school theater for 7 years and was the creator/director of "May Contain Nuts," a family friendly improv group in Orange County, California. Joey runs Sidekick to Hero, a confidence & resilience training program for tweens and teens. He and his wife currently live in Salem, Utah where they homeschool their four children.

Ford Doussett

FORD DOUSSETT

                                                                                        Is a co-teacher at improv academy and the son of Curt                                                                                          & Tonia Doussett, who started ComedyBox in 1999. Born in Utah, Ford began his improv journey shortly after coming home from an LDS mission in 2023. Besides being Provo's most eligible bachelor, Ford is the owner of Adpulse Creative and works at Comedybox, to take on the family business. While Ford does not have kids or a wife, he has three roommates who need to learn how to wash their dishes. 

                                                                          is a writer, comedian, and all-around happy person. She                                                                                      spent five years with BYU Divine Comedy, has had opportunities to study and perform sketch comedy in Los Angeles, and now teaches every summer at BYU’s Sketch Comedy Workshop. Annie has worked professionally as a joke writer, social media producer, and public speaker. When she’s not onstage at ComedyBox Utah, you might find her training at an American Ninja Warrior gym or polishing a stage show all about Parley P. Pratt.

Classes and workshops

Improv Academy 
fall semester

Start Date: September 10th​, every wednesday.

 

Class Times:

Class A: 12 - 1:30,

Class B: 2:00 - 3:30,

Intermediate: 4:00 - 5:30 (14+)

Place: ComedyBox Utah

Our regular semester classes for improv. Each class will be for 12 weeks, an hour and a half per class, which will end in a final showcase for friends and family to come watch and enjoy!

All kids ages 10-18 are welcome to join, and the best part is that this workshop is Utah Homeschool scholarship approved!
